Welcome to the WY ICS APC website
Since September 2021, all work approving WY ICS APC Templates, drug classifications and guidelines have gone through a single West Yorkshire ICB Area Prescribing Committee. This single West Yorkshire ICB Area Prescribing Committee is also overseeing the alignment of all existing medicines classifications and harmonisation of all prescribing guidelines.
To reflect this work the South West Yorkshire Area Prescribing Committee website has been changed to West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board Area Prescribing Committee.
There is no change in how to access the website, however work is ongoing in several areas:
– Each page of the website is being checked for accessibility, with items either being deleted, redirected if hosted elsewhere or edited to ensure they meet the accessibility critieria.
– Content that is out of date is being updated and/or being removed. Where applicable, the website will signpost to other resources.
– As documents come up for review, the link on the website will be updated to point to the latest version. Where possible, any current links or reference you have within internal documents etc will remain the same.
Previously all medicines classification and guidelines went through two distinct area prescribing committees, one based in Leeds (Leeds Area Prescribing Committee) and another that served the areas of Bradford & Craven, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield (South West Yorkshire Area Prescribing Committee).
Due to the scale of this task, all new medicines classifications and guidelines are currently being updated on the existing websites for each Area Prescribing Committee. Once we are in a more aligned position these websites will be closed and a single medicines classification list and guidelines section will be hosted on a single website.
Until this happens, please continue to use the existing Area Prescribing Committee websites that serves your area. Please note that until the work is completed, some guidance’s shown on existing websites may be out of date but are still considered valid.
